Christopher Dean Stokes

Christopher Dean Stokes, 62, of Marianna passed in peace on Monday, March 27, 2017.

He was a Native of Jackson County and was born in Columbia, South Carolina. Mr. Stokes had resided in Jackson County and was employed with the State of Florida at Dozier School for Boys. Mr. Stokes was of Baptist faith and an avid sports fan. He enjoyed fishing, painting, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenda Shell and James C. Stokes, daughter, Glenda Stokes and brother, Glen “Skip” Delph and grandchild, Hunter Kent.

Survivors include his children, Christopher Dean Stokes II, William Stokes and Elizabeth Stokes; loving brother, Denver Delph and wife, Felicia and son Dylan; former wife and cherished friend Janet Stokes and daughter Lynn Shumaker. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Kent, Tyler & Sierran Tennyson, Nathan & Ashton Shumaker and Kayla & Steven Taylor.

Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Monday, April 3, 2017 in Round Lake Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. 

The family will receive friends at 11:30 a.m. Monday, April 3, 2017 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to James & Sikes Funeral Home in Mr. Stokes’ name.

James Boyce Wise

James Boyce Wise

James Boyce Wise, 82 of Marianna, Florida, passed away on April 2, 2017.  Born November 4, 1934,   to John C. and Edna Olive Wise of Bascom, FL where he was raised. 

Mr. Wise attended school in Bascom, FL, and Malone School graduating in 1952.  Upon graduation, he attended college at Troy State earning a B.S. Degree in Business in 1956.  After college, he gained employment at Commercial Bank in Panama City, where he met his future wife, Mary Jean Lewis, who was also employed at the bank as a secretary. 

James and Jean were married April 28, 1957, and soon after he was drafted into the United States Army, serving 2 years at Ft. McClellan, in Anniston, AL.  In 1962, he accepted a job with the Federal Land Bank, in Marianna, FL, which merged with Farm Credit.  He retired from Farm Credit in 1987 and began his own property appraisal business for several years.  In 1992, he was elected Marianna City Commissioner proudly serving the city he loved for 22 years.  His goal was to serve the city and residents to the very best of his ability.  He never backed down from making the hard decisions and had the ability to see “the bigger picture” on issues regarding the city.  For these reasons, he was well respected in his community and city.

Mr. Wise was a member of the Rotary Club holding several offices over the years and was awarded lifetime membership of The Paul Harris Foundation.  He was also a member of the First United Methodist Church, Marianna, Florida, for over 50 years, serving on numerous committees.  He loved his friends lovingly called “The Friday Night Group”.  His love for travel took him and Jean all over the world including Europe, China, and several Caribbean cruises and all 50 U.S. states.  In later years, he enjoyed meeting with friends for coffee and breakfast each morning. Of course, this group was named “The Mark Out Coffee Club”.

Mr. Wise was preceded in death by his parents, John C. and Edna Olive Wise.  Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Jean Lewis Wise, sons J. Gregory Wise of Marianna, FL, Stanley Bruce Wise of Palm Bay, FL, daughters Rhonda Wise Henson and husband Mel of Bascom, FL, and Sharon Wise Troncale and husband David of Atlanta, GA, grandchildren, Janna Isabella and husband Charles, Blake Henson, Jay Henson, Cody Henson, Josh Troncale, and Mary Grace Troncale, and one great-grandchild, Charlie Isabella.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, 2017 in The Wesley Center at First United Methodist Church in Marianna., with Reverend Dr. Nathan Attwood officiating. Interment will follow in Bascom First United Methodist Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. 

The family will receive friends Monday, from 5-7 p.m. in The Wesley Center at First United Methodist Church in Marianna.  

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Marianna, FL, or “Upper Room Sunday School Class” of the First United Methodist Church, Marianna, FL.

Robert Lee Messner, 59, of Sneads died Thursday, March 30, 2017 at his residence. Funeral ceremony will begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel. Ella Mae Childs

Ella Mae Childs, 87, of Grand Ridge, departed this life on Thursday, March 30, 2017 to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Ella was a native and life long resident of Jackson County. She retired from the Florida State Hospital after 34 years of service. She was a member of Christian Covenant Church since she was 14 years old and had served as Secretary and Treasurer for a number of years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Allen Childs; parents, Rainey and Flossie Watts; one son, James Edward “Eddie” Childs and one sister, Doris Branch. 

She is survived by one son, Walter A. Childs, daughter-in-law, Sharon Childs both of Grand Ridge; three grandchildren, Missy Rogers and husband, Bubba of Greenwood, Gene, Allen and Keesha Childs of Grand Ridge; seven great-grandchildren, Karissa Childs, Megan Hand and husband, Cameron, Tristen Rogers, Trent, Baylee, Ella-Ann and Nate Childs; one great-great-grandchild, Adeline Hand; one brother, Thomas Watts and wife, Gerry of Merritt Island; two sisters, Gwen Burch and husband, Lafayette, Sallie Gable and husband, Richard of Grand Ridge. 

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, April 3, 2017 at Christian Covenant Church, 2011 Finley Ave. Grand Ridge, FL 32442, with Rev. Gary Gable officiating. Interment will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.

James L. Edenfield

James L. Edenfield, 78, of Grand Ridge, FL, passed away on April 3, 2017.  He was born on December 19, 1938, son of Neal M. and Linnie V Edenfield of Grand Ridge, FL, where he was raised.

Mr. Edenfield held Master’s Degrees in mathematics and electrical engineering.  He retired from the U.S. Air Force with the rank of Major after serving for 20 years at bases in Japan, Korea, and in the U.S.  He was also a computer engineer at Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins, GA for a number of years.

After his retirement, Mr. Edenfield returned to Grand Ridge, FL, and devoted himself to genealogy, helping thousands of people with their family histories over the years.  He started the organization Edenfield Genealogical Society and the family history website edenfield.org; its database grew over time to include more than 260,000 individuals.  He also worked with his friend Wayne Carpenter to publish an extensive online survey of cemeteries in Jackson Co. and surrounding counties

He was preceded in death by his parents, Neal M. and Linnie V Edenfield, as well as his brother Curtis M. Edenfield and his granddaughter Lauren E. Joiner. 

Survivors include his son Paul A. Edenfield of Buford, GA, daughter MaryCatherine E.  Brooks (Greg) of McCammon, Idaho; sisters Laverne Adams and Dorrece Lisenby; and grandchildren Jeremy N. Edenfield, Timothy J. Edenfield, Lindsay E. Edenfield, and Gregory G. Joiner.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, April 6, 2017 at El Bethel Assembly of God Church, with Pastor Clint Howell officiating. Interment will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel in Marianna.

Toni L. Kemper, 50, of Marianna died Sunday, April 2, 2017 at Jackson Hospital.

A native of Dade County, FL, Toni had resided in Jackson County for the past 44 years, where she was employed at Captain D’s for the past 20 years.

Toni was preceded in death by her mother, Judith A. Sloan; father Garland Randall Kemper and maternal grandparents, Harold and Ella Perrine.

Survivors include her sisters, Deidre Kemper of Marianna; Ramona Gilley and husband, Paul ( Eddie ) of Sneads;  Pamela Sebastian and husband James of Chattahoochee; Stacey Kemper of Marianna; one brother, Paul Kemper and wife Jeannie of Alford; fourteen nieces and nephews she loved spending time with.

Funeral services will be at 6 pm, Friday, April 7, 2017 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel.

The family will receive friends from 5 pm until funeral time Friday, April 7, 2017 at Maddox Chapel.

Memorialization will be by cremation with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.

Gloria Annice Peacock

Gloria Annice Peacock, 73, of Marianna, FL was called to her heavenly home on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, suddenly.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Woodrow and Elizabeth Porter. Survivors include her lifelong sweetheart, husband and best friend Bill Peacock; three daughters, Stacey Schultz and husband, Russ of St. Louis, MO, Christy Lemmons and husband, Mike of Mills River, NC, and Dana Torbett and husband, Rex of Marianna, FL; six grandsons, Dan Schultz and wife, Maire of Honolulu, HI, David Schultz of Hattisburg, MS, Carter Lemmons of Mills River, NC, Austin Torbett, Riley Torbett, and Caleb Torbett of Marianna, FL; three granddaughters, Mackenzie Clark and husband Kramer, Megan Lemmons, and Madison Davis all of Mills River, NC.

Gloria and Bill enjoyed 52 years together raising their family in Marianna, FL. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Marianna since 1967 where she enjoyed singing in the choir, playing the hand bells, attending Ruth Sunday School Class, outings with JOY Club and attending Joy Blossoms Ladies Bible study. She was active in missions thru Project H.O.P.E., Inc. and treasured her trips to Nicaragua, Central America. Gloria also volunteered at A Women’s Pregnancy Center weekly in Marianna. She was an enthusiastic supporter of her three grandsons at all of their sporting events. She and Bill enjoyed traveling on long motorhome trips with Jack and Peggy Peacock. Gloria & Bill made many wonderful memories at their house at Round Lake, FL.

The funeral will be Sunday, April 9, 2017 at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Marianna with Rev. Michael Petty and Rev. Jeff Powell officiating. Interment will follow at First Baptist Church of Campbellton, FL cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends Saturday, April 8, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Marianna.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Jerry Tice, James Edward Tice, Andy Compton, Tanner Peacock, Brandon Bruner, and Ryan Bruner. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Austin Torbett, Riley Torbett, and Caleb Corbett.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Project H.O.P.E., Inc., Springfield, MO (via First Baptist Church of Marianna, FL) or A Women’s Pregnancy Center, Marianna, FL.

Robbie L. Pippin

Mrs. Robbie L. Pippin, 77, of Compass Lake died Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Marianna Health and Rehab Center.                              

Mrs. Robbie was a native of Compass Lake, and resided in Jackson County all of her life. She was employed at Westpoint Stevens Peperell until her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin L. Pippin.  Survivors include three children; Margaret Ellen Locke of Tallahassee, Linda Carol Wright and husband Darrell Kelley of Panama City and Kenneth L. Pippin of Compass Lake; four grandchildren, Jason Locke of Tallahassee, Susan Haney and Jimmy Haney of Chaffee, MO, Jennifer Powell of South Roxanna, IL; seven great-grandchildren.  

Memorial Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Marianna Health and Rehabilitation Center with Rev. Rhul Edenfield officiating.  James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Hazeline P. Mercer

Hazeline P. Mercer, 81, of Dellwood died Friday, April 7, 2017 at her residence.

Hazeline was born in the Lovedale/Two Egg Community and was a lifelong resident of Dellwood. She retired from Sunland after 36 years of service, she was a very organized person who loved everyone. Hazeline enjoyed singing solo and in the choir at Welcome Assembly of God Church where she was a longtime member.

Hazeline was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Relma Mercer. She is survived by one daughter, Della Tubbs; one brother, Lonzo Powell both of Dellwood; two sisters, Lillie Cloud of Dellwood, Doris Toole of Graceville; a very special great-nephew, Cameron Parrish of Dellwood and numerous special nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Welcome Assembly of God Church with Rev. Clinton Hobbs officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.

Savannah Carol Comerford

Savannah Carol Comerford, 73, of Sneads died Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at her residence. 

She was born in Buhl, Alabama and lived most of her life in Jackson County. Savannah was retired from the Florida State Hospital as a nurse with 30+ years of Service. For about 10 years, she worked as a state wide procter for state board certification and licensing for nursing exams. She loved bingo, cooking, crafts and crocheting.

Survived by three sons, Phillip Comerford (Christina), Warren Chandler (Jennifer) and Jeff Chandler (Stephanie); 14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Joanne Malone of Northport, AL; several nieces and a nephew.

Graveside funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Pope Cemetery in Sneads with James & Sikes Funeral Home Sneads Chapel directing.

William A. Headley

William A. Headley, 56, of Marianna, passed away Monday, April 10, 2017.

Born in Montgomery, Alabama, William was raised in Brannonville, Panama City, Florida and had been a resident of the Sunland Center in Marianna since 2004.

He was preceded in death by his father, Earnest Headley; sister, Martha F. Campbell and brother, Stacy A. Headley.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Francine Milam; sisters, Glenda A. Campbell and Barbara M. Smith; brothers,  Junior Headley, Wayne Headley, Rusty Headley and Stephon J. Peck-Headley.

Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 14, 2017 at the Sunland Chapel, 3700 Williams Drive, Marianna, Florida 32246 with Chaplain Ruth Moore officiating, James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.

Memorialization will be by cremation with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel  directing.

Gary Lynn Firestone

Gary Lynn Firestone went home to be with the Lord on April 6, 2017.Gary lived in Front Royal, Virginia but had been in and out of hospitals for 2 years and died in the John Hopkins Hospital in Maryland.

 Gary was 67 years old.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry John Firestone and Bette Lee Firestone and brother, Harry Bruce Firestone.  He is survived by his dear friend and partner for 22 years, Carol Deptula, his daughter, Gracy Jacobs and Benny and granddaughter, MacKenzie, his sisters, Carolyn Carmony and Doug of New Tazewell, Tennessee, Nancy Kent of Alford, Florida, his brother, Frank Firestone of Fountain, Florida and also the mother of his daughter, Sibil Varnum Firestone. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.

Gary was born in Lincoln, Nebraska and moved to Fountain, Florida as a small child. He attended schools in Bay County.

He served in the U.S. Army Calvary during the Viet Nam War where he was wounded and received a purple heart. . He received an award for expert marksmanship while stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas.

He was employed with the Smithsonian Institute Catalog Division in Springfield, Virginia for many years.

Gary will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Tommy Frank Stephens

Tommy Frank Stephens

Tommy Frank Stephens, 67, of Marianna went home to be with the Lord on April 16, 2017.

Tommy was born in Dothan, Alabama January 8, 1950. He resided at the Jackson Group Home provided by my personal choices. He loved animals, especially his dog Brownie and country music. Tommy also enjoyed the many years he worked at JCARC and was a member of Eastside Baptist Church. 

He was preceded in death by his father, William Frank Stephens; mother, Grace Richardson; maternal grandmother, Mary Vinson and paternal grandmother, Anna Stephens. He is survived by one brother, Greg Stephens of Hillard; one sister Linda Green and husband, Al of Marianna and a host of nieces and nephews. 

Graveside funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, April 21, 2017 at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with Rev. John Rollyson officiating. James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel is in charge of arrangements.  

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Melanie Smith and all the staff at the Jackson Group Home for the love and special care they provided to Tommy.

Larry Parsons, 75, of Marianna died Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Marianna Health and Rehab. 

Larry was born in Oconee County, Georgia to the late Aubrey and Clara Reynolds Parsons. He was a Heavy Equipment Operator and attended New Beginnings Worship Center. 

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey and Clara Reynolds Parsons; two sisters, Hazel Chastain and Claramay Parsons; two brothers, John and Jack Parsons. 

He is survived by his children, Mary Elizabeth Taylor, Charles Daniel Parsons and Julie Ann Rackley all of Sneads; son, Lawrence Christopher; one brother, Junior Parsons both of Jacksonville; grandchildren, Kimberly Taylor, Haley Stone, Katelyn Stone, Brittany Parsons, Carrie Taylor, William Taylor and Ashton Taylor.  

A memorial service will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at New Beginnings Worship Center in Grand Ridge with Pastor Mike Daniels and Daniel Parsons officiating. Interment will be in Shady Grove Cemetery at a later date. James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Marvin F. “Buck” Wood

Marvin F. “Buck” Wood, 79, of Cottondale died Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Jackson Hospital.

Marvin was born in Blountstown, but lived most of his life in Port St. Joe. He also lived in Nebraska for 10 years and had spent the last 24 years here in Jackson County. He was a retired cross country truck driver and was working presently in security at Spanish Trail Lumber in Cypress.

He was survived by his wife of 23 years, Brenda Wood; one son, Damone (Duck) Glass and wife, Sandy all of Cottondale; one daughter, Dana Panichella and husband, Mark of Marianna; one brother, Arlan Wood of Wewahitchka; two sisters, Wanna Grace of Port St. Joe, Clarice Vessels of Oklahoma City, OK; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 21, 2017 at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel with Rev. Donnie Hussey officiating. Burial will follow at New Salem Baptist Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel.

Marian Garrison, 87, of Marianna died Tuesday, Apr 18, 2017 at Jackson Hospital. 

Marian was a homemaker, until recently she had resided in Shalimar, FL and raised her 3 children with her husband who was in the US Air Force for 20 years. In her spare time, she like to paint seascapes and to sew.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Marty Garrison and her sister Betty of Mobile, AL.

Marian is survived by her three children, Karen Medecky and husband, Artie of Sneads, Tom of Houston, TX; Marty and wife, Martha of San Jose, CA; three grandchildren, Matthew, Sarah and Jennifer; one great-grandchild Sophia and one sister, Margie Hearn of San Antonio, TX.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, April 24, 2017 at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, FL with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. Sheila Cook

Sheila Cook, 66, of Marianna died Thursday, April 20, 2017 in the Hospice Center at Bay Medical Center.

Sheila was a native and lifelong resident of Marianna. She loved playing bingo, fishing, singing karoke and eating oysters. Sheila had a heart of gold and was of the protestant faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Wayne Cook; one son, Jerry Timothy Cook; one daughter, Debra Hamm and her parents, Fred Cone and Raynell Cain Morris.

She is survived by one brother, Don Morris and wife, Ouida of Marianna; one sister, Marsha Lehrer and husband, Ron Kurowski of New York; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel with Rev. Juno Douglas officiating. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. Charles Brown, Jr.

Charles Brown, Jr.

Charles Brown, Jr., 85, passed away April 28, 2017 in Marianna, FL.  Charles’ love of God, family, friends, his country, and all things GATOR was known by all he came in contact with in his lifetime and he would share a story with you, if you didn’t know.  

Charles was born in Jacksonville, FL on January 26, 1932 to the late Clarence C. Brown, Sr. and Gladys Brown. He graduated from Marianna High School in 1950 as a standout in four different sports. Charles graduated from the University of Florida in 1954 where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity and active in the Army ROTC and, as a freshman, was a kicker for the football team and on the basketball team. 

He served his country in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Dachau Germany for 18 months. His reserve duty as company commander ended when his unit was deactivated and his job prevented him from traveling to another reserve unit in Tallahassee. 

Charles married Peggy Pittman Brown in 1964 and began a long career with State Farm Insurance serving as Marianna’s agent for 42 years. Charles and Peggy were blessed with a daughter, Amber, who was the light of his life. He participated and supported Amber in all of her school activities and life adventures. The Chipola area Gator club was founded and led by Charles for many years where he was responsible for raising funds to support many Gator scholarships. He was a Golden Club member of the Marianna First United Methodist Church, a long standing member of the Marianna Kiwanis Club, and served a term as President of the Marianna Chamber of Commerce.

Every year, families and children of all ages, looked forward to the “Charlie Brown Christmas Spectacular” which showcased lights and character decorations that Charles made by hand. 

Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Gladys Brown and his sister, Kathryn Brown. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Peggy Brown; his daughter, Amber and extended family, Doris Williams. 

Funeral services will be two o’clock in the afternoon, Monday, May 1, 2017, in the sanctuary of the Marianna First United Methodist Church with the Reverend Dr. Nathan Atwood officiating.  Burial will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. 

Visitation will be from five until seven o’clock in the evening, Sunday, April 30, 2017 in the Wesley Center at the Marianna First United Methodist Church.

Adam Ladone Peacock

Adam Ladone Peacock, 78, of Marianna died Sunday, April 30, 2017 in the Campbellton-Graceville Hospital.

Ladone was a life long resident of Marianna, FL.  He retired from the State of Florida where he worked at the Florida State Hospital.  He enjoyed hunting, his membership in the coffee club at Hardee’s and he was a lover of Nascar.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee and Susie McMillan Peacock.  He is survived by his wife, Dorothy A. Peacock of Marianna; one daughter, Toni Peacock of Marianna; his mother-in-law, Luvon Adams; his caregiver, Ella Brown “Ladone’s Della”; his dog, “the boss” Candy; three brothers, Willie Paul Peacock (Sue) of San Antonio, TX, Jim Peacock (Donna) of Grand Ridge and Bruce Peacock  (Lynn) of Sneads; four sisters, Johnnie Roberts (Julian), Nellie Riley (Herscell), Nettiell Smith, and Carlette Peacock all of Grand Ridge, FL; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel with Revs. Willie Paul Peacock and Wes Wickard officiating.  Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.  The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m., Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel.

Bobby J. Kent, 83, of Marianna died Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Jackson Hospital.

Bobby was a native of Alford and a lifelong resident of Jackson county. He served in the U.S. Army where he retired after 20 years.  He loved working in his workshop on small engine’s. He enjoyed piddleing and tinkering with things. 

He is survived by his wife, Laura Kent; his daughter, Patricia Baxter (Randy); two sons, Bobby Kent (Tess) and Tommy Kent; one step-daughter, Marsha Wyatt (Donald) of Marianna; three step-sons, Andy Brogdon (Judy) of Altha, FL, Stan Brogdon of Altha, FL, and Wayne Brogdon (Brenda) of Marianna, FL; five grandchildren, Kimberly Baxter Huett (Charles), Kelly Baxter Kelly (William), Meaghan Kent, Stephen Kent, and Jeromy Kent; step-grandchildren, Donna Chandler, Scott Wyatt (Zanda), Mark Brogdon, Jenna Barfield (Daniel), Angela Brogdon, Dennis Brogdon (Cindy), and Lisa Brogdon; six great-grandchildren, Austin Huett, Lillianne Huett, Raylie Huett, Abby Kelly, Welden Kelly, and Warren Kelley; nine step-great-grandchildren, Wyatt Chandler, Austin Wyatt, Travis Wyatt, Cody Barfield, Hadley Barfield, Anthony Manzella (Jodi), Britney Sims (Kyle), Nikki Fears, and Meghan Wamble; six step-great-great-grandchildren; special nephew, Ronald Kent.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 6, 2017 at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, May 5, 2017 at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel.
